Out and About

Q. We will no doubt want to book some tours while we are there – how do we do that?
Sea Star Apartments has its own onsite FREE tour booking desk and we can ensure your trips are seamless from start to finish with coordinated transfers.

We can book overnight and day boat trips, jet ski tours, scenic flights, segway tours, sunset cruises, to name a few.

Q. We have heard a lot about the Great Barrier Reef and Whitehaven Beach – can you organise trips to these places?
Yes – we can book you on trips to the Great Barrier Reef and Whitehaven Beach and we can also organise transfers to and from the ferry terminal to make your day hassle-free.

Q. We will be going out to the islands while we are there and were wondering how far it is to the ferry terminal?
We are a 20-minute walk or a five-minute taxi ride to the Cruise Whitsunday ferry terminal at Port of Airlie, which offers daily transfers and trips to the Whitsunday Islands and reef. We are also very close to the Coral Sea Marina where a lot of the day trip boats depart from. Most day tour operators offer a pick up and drop off service.

Q. We were thinking of visiting Hamilton Island – how far is that?
Hamilton Island can be reached via ferry from the Port of Airlie, in town, and is between a 30-minute and one-hour boat ride depending on the route taken.

Q. We are thinking of booking a boat trip out of Abell Point Marina – how far is that from Sea Star Apartments?
Abell Point Marina is a 20-minute easy walk along the Millennium Boardwalk or a five-minute taxi ride. However, most tour operators that leave from Abell Point have a complimentary transfer service.

Q. What if we need a car while we are there?
A. There is a wide choice of car hire companies in Airlie Beach with everything from scooters and mini-mokes to larger cars and campervans.

Getting Here

Q. How do we get to Airlie Beach
There are daily flights into Whitsunday Coast (Proserpine) Airport from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne with Virgin, Jetstar and Qantas.

You can also fly into Hamilton Island and catch a ferry operated Cruise Whitsundays to the Port of Airlie.

If you are on a driving holiday, exit the Bruce Highway just north of Proserpine – you will see the sign to Airlie Beach.

Q. How do we get from Whitsunday Coast (Proserpine) Airport to Sea Star Apartments?
We offer a door-to-door service from Whitsunday Coast (Proserpine) Airport. Call us for more information and prices as they vary for one way, return, adults, children and infants.

Recreational Activities

Q. We love swimming – where can we swim in Airlie Beach?
There is a family-friendly, freshwater lagoon in Airlie Beach that is non-tidal and stinger-free all year round. There is also the beach at Port of Airlie and of course, there is also the resort’s wet-edge pool.

Q. I am a keen fisherman – can I fish in Airlie Beach?
There are quite a few fishing charters you can take and there are a few spots around Airlie Beach that you can throw a line in if that’s more to your liking.

Q. What is the shopping like in Airlie Beach?
There are lots of shops along the Main Street and at Port of Airlie offering swimwear, clothing, shoes, jewellery, homewares, gifts and souvenirs. There is a Woolworths in town and plenty of bottle shops.

There are also two large shopping centres in Cannonvale, which is a 10-minute bus or taxi ride just over the hill from Airlie, and there are Saturday morning markets on the Airlie Foreshore.

Q. We like to eat out – is there much variety in Airlie Beach?
Yes, you can eat Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian, Italian, French, Moroccan, Spanish (Tapas) and ‘Modern Australian’ in Airlie Beach with fresh Whitsunday seafood featuring in a lot of menus.

Q. We have heard a lot about the Whitsunday sailing scene – how far is the sailing club from Sea Star Apartments?
The Whitsunday Sailing Club is on Airlie Point and is a 20-minute walk or a five-minute taxi ride away.

Q. Will I be woken by Airlie’s famous nightlife?
No, Sea Star Apartments are in a quiet street back and up from the Airlie Beach main street, backing onto National Park and surrounded by lush, tropical rainforest.

It is ideal for families and couples.

Our Facilities

Q. Is there a lift at Sea Star Apartments?
Yes, we have a lift in only one of our apartment blocks – please advise if this is a requirement when booking. There are no ground floor apartments. All of the other apartment blocks have stairs to climb to get to your apartment. 

Q. Do you have a pool?
Yes, we have a wonderful wet-edge pool with stunning views across the Coral Sea.

Q. Is car parking provided?
Yes, either in a single sized garage or in one of our outdoor parking bays. Each apartment offers parking for one car. Any additional vehicles or oversized vehicles need to be arranged prior to arrival.

Q. Do you have a restaurant?
No, we do not have an onsite restaurant. There are however, lots of quality restaurants and cafes in Airlie Beach and surrounds, offering breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and tapas.

You can choose from casual to a la carte and of course you can prepare meals in your apartment and make use of our outdoor BBQ area overlooking the pool.

Q. Where is the closest supermarket?
A. There is a large Woolworths supermarket in Airlie Beach, an easy 10-minute walk along Waterson Way (which is just at the bottom of our road).

Our Apartments

Q. Is linen provided?
Yes, all linen is provided.

Q. What do we need to bring?
We supply a free starter pack in every apartment for your convenience including tea, coffee, sugar, milk, as well as soap, shampoo, conditioner, toilet rolls, dishwasher tablets and laundry powder. Additional items can be purchased from reception and there is a supermarket nearby for larger quantity of supplies.

Q. Do you have cable TV?
We have all free to air channels and every apartment has a smart TV that allows for all streaming apps to be played.

Q. Do you have hairdryers?
Yes, every apartment has a hairdryer in each bathroom.

Q. Do you have in-room safes?
No, we do not have in-room safes installed in our apartments.

Q. Can we cook our own meals in the apartments?
Yes, all apartments have fully-equipped modern kitchens with everything you need to prepare a meal including oven, dishwasher and of course fridge.

Q. What is your cancellation policy?
If your booking is cancelled prior to 7 days of your arrival, you will receive a full refund. If your booking is cancelled less than 7 days prior to your arrival, you will be charged 1 night’s accommodation fee. Following check-in, there will be no refund. The same applies to ‘no shows’.

Q. Can we see the ocean from our apartment?
Yes, every apartment at Sea Star has stunning 180° views of the Coral Sea, and every apartment has its own private covered balcony.

Q. Are the apartments air-conditioned?
Yes, all apartments are air conditioned with an air conditioner in every bedroom and a separate, large air conditioner for the living/dining area.

Q. Do the apartments have ensuites?
Yes, our one-bedroom apartments have ensuites (with shower, basin and toilet) and our two and three-bedroom apartments have ensuites off the master bedroom and a second bathroom (with bath) and a second, separate toilet.

Q. Is there an on-site laundry
Every apartment has its own laundry with washing machine and electric dryer. There is also a portable clothes-drying rack.
